- Passport and a UK visa, both valid for at least 3 months beyond your trip. If your UK visa is in the old passport please provide both old and new passports (there is no need to transfer a stamp into a new passport).
- 2 identical passport-size colour photographs on light background. Do NOT staple the photos and please NO DIGITAL or home-made puctures.

Please answer the questions you can and sign twice, one in p.37 and again at the bottom right corner. Your signature must be EXACTLY like in your passport. Duration of visa and number of entries is decided by the embassy and may be different from what you requested on the form.
- Travel Insurance (NOT needed for spouses of UK/EU citizens). Go to Insure&Go for an instant on-line purchase. NB: If insurance is provided with your bank account - ask your bank for a NEW original letter confirming cover (letter DATED NO OLDER than 1 MONTH, on bank's headed paper).
- 3-MONTHS bank statements (NOT needed for spouses of UK/EU citizens).
For all not married to UK/EU citizens: 3-months POSTAL bank statements with all pages including SALARY. Last statement must be no older than 1 month; in credit; with £30 per day of stay per person.
- If the last original statement is older than 1 month you still need 3 months postal statements plus a 'Temporary Statement' with up-to-date balance with the same account.
- If you don't have postal bank statements or if the balance is not good - EURO travel cheques, €50 per day of stay. Credit cards are not accepted.
- For employed: Letter from Employer (NOT needed for spouses of UK/EU citizens). Letter must be: dated no older than 1 month, on ORIGINAL headed paper; must confirm your employment and job title.
- If you are not working and supported by a spouse: original spouse's passport and original marriage certificate, spouse's employment letter (as p.6), spouse's bank statement (as p.5).
- For students: Letter from College/University confirming attendance. Letter must be: no older than 1 month; on headed paper; stating your course and dates of graduation.
- For self-employed: Letter (no older than 1 month on headed paper) from your solicitor or accountant confirming 1) you are self-employed, 2) business name and company number;3) nature of business.
- For spouses of UK/EU citizens: spouse's original British/EU passport and original marriage certificate. If your certificate is not in English, French, German or Italian - must be translated by a registered translation company. Please provide BOTH original certificate (in foreign language) AND original translation.
- Return tickets (required for ALL including spouses of UK/EU citizens). Internet print-outs are OK.
- Proof of accomodation (NOT required for spouses of UK/EU citizens and NOT required for those travelling for business purposes).
- If staying at a hotel: Hotel booking directly from a hotel on hotel's letterhead paper. A fax is OK . An email with attachment on a letterhead paper is OK. However, basic text emails from hotel's reception are NOT acceptable.
You can book a hotel through a travel website or travel agent but you still have to contact a hotel and ask them to send such an email or fax confirming the following: a) your name(s) as a guest; b) dates of stay; c) hotel address and contact details.
- If staying with friends/family who live in Switzerland: ORIGINAL invitation plus photocopy of the host's passport/ID. If applicable - Swiss residence visa. Has to be faxed directly to Swiss Embassy fax +44 20 7724 7001. Please provide a copy for us.
- If staying at a hotel: Hotel booking directly from a hotel on hotel's letterhead paper. A fax is OK . An email with attachment on a letterhead paper is OK. However, basic text emails from hotel's reception are NOT acceptable.
- If travelling for business/conference: Business Invitation letter or a fax from a Swiss-based company. Letter of invitation has to state your name, company name, purpose of the trip, dates and contacts of the inviting organisation.
- Payment for £110. If you are married to a UK/Swiss/EU citizen - £55. Cash or cheque to 'Multi Travel Visas Ltd'.
- Pre-paid Special Delivery envelope (to return your documents) from any Post Office or add £6.
