How quickly can I get a France Schengen Visa appointment in London?

TLScontact has changed its appointment system for short-stay France visa applications. Applicants no longer select an available appointment from a calendar. Once your application has been validated, you enter the TLScontact appointment queue and an appointment is allocated based on availability.

The waiting time depends on TLScontact availability, so there is no fixed timeframe for receiving an appointment. We recommend starting your application as early as possible, particularly during busy travel periods.  
 

Where will my biometric appointment take place?

You attend your appointment in person at your chosen TLScontact visa application centre. UK residents are free to apply through the TLScontact centres in London, Manchester or Edinburgh because there are no separate consular areas within the UK.
If you choose London, your appointment will take place at the TLScontact Wandsworth visa application centre. We help you prepare for your appointment and tell you what documents to bring.  
 

I am the spouse of a British national. Do I still have to pay the French visa fee?

In most cases, yes. Since Brexit, third-country nationals who are family members of British citizens no longer qualify for the EU-family-member visa arrangements solely because their spouse is British.
 

I have Indefinite Leave to Remain or Settlement in the UK. Do I still need a Schengen visa?

Your UK immigration status does not by itself determine whether you need a Schengen visa. Your nationality and travel circumstances determine the visa requirement.

If your passport nationality requires a Schengen visa, having ILR or settled status in the UK does not remove the requirement to apply for a visa for a short trip to France.
 

I am entering France but spending more time in Belgium. Should I apply through France?

No. If Belgium is the main destination of your trip based on the duration of your stay, you should normally apply through Belgium.
If you spend an equal amount of time in several Schengen countries and there is no other main destination, you apply through the country whose external border you intend to cross first.

There are no TLS France appointments available. What should I do?

For short-stay France visa applications in London and Manchester, you no longer need to repeatedly search the TLScontact calendar.Once the required information has been provided and your application has been validated, TLScontact places you in the appointment queue. You are notified when an appointment becomes available. You then have 24 hours to pay the TLScontact service fee and confirm your appointment.  
 

Do I need to keep checking TLScontact for cancelled appointments?

No. Under the new short-stay appointment system, applicants in London and Manchester enter a queue rather than competing to select individual appointments from the calendar. TLScontact allocates appointments according to availability and notifies applicants when an appointment becomes available.
 

What happens when TLScontact allocates my appointment?

TLScontact notifies us when an appointment becomes available. 
It is important to act within this period. We guide our clients through the process so they understand what needs to be completed when an appointment is allocated.  
 

Can you help if I have already completed my France-Visas application?

Yes. If you have already completed your France-Visas application, contact us and tell us which stage you have reached. We will check what still needs to be completed and explain the next steps through TLScontact.
Under the new short-stay system, we do not search the calendar and select an appointment on your behalf. TLScontact allocates the appointment after the application enters the queue.  
 

Do I need to share my TLScontact login details with you?

We only request access to information or accounts where this is necessary for the service you have authorised. We use your information to assist with your visa application and TLScontact process. Your visa application and appointment remain in your own name.
 

How much does a France Schengen visa cost from the UK in 2026?

The total cost depends on your application and the services you use.There are separate French visa application fees and TLScontact service fees. Optional TLScontact services may involve additional charges. Some applicants qualify for reduced fees or exemptions depending on their circumstances. We confirm the applicable costs before you proceed with our service.  
 

What happens if TLScontact has not allocated my appointment yet?

Your application stays within the TLScontact appointment process until an appointment becomes available according to the system’s availability.
